Questions!

I had a gdoc open to questions while I was at work today. Below I am gonna paste the stuff relevant to Kurei. (Ask more in comments if you guys want...)


- SO HOW IS KUREI DOING WITHOUT A HEART
HE IS...doing fine. ...Sort of. Not really. since idk Kingdom Hearts, I’m kind of just making up my own thing as I go. He’s kind of... Shut down? Especially in terms of the positive ~feelings~ he has. He kind of is sliding towards what Mori Kouran initially tried to train him in being (a KILLING MACHINE/tool/thingy) except with less hatred and homicidal feelings and more...total apathy. He’s stopped caring about being nice (NOT THAT HE EVER WAS NICE BUT AT LEAST...before, he was...more considerate...) and doesn’t really give a damn what people say about him, think about him, and whether or not they want to view his memories.

Uh. Because of this, he’s also very unlikely to use his flame. Because to me, to him, the Flame Masters’ flame is a result of passion for something, whether it’s to protect or to kill or whatever. And Kurei’s is very much tied into his desire to protect his mother, himself, his pride, and, well. His love for Kurenai. SO, YEAH. :|a I mean, canonly, they say that they ignite their flame with THEIR SOUL so if the soul is...not quite there...


what was kurei thinking when he gave up his heart, did he not think a heart was very important :|a...
He did think it was important and he was hesitant cause...Kurenai. It’s like when he considered up giving up the emotion of “love” during the Green Knight’s game. On one hand, life would be so much easier without it. On the other, it’d be too cruel to Kurenai and the people he does care about. Also, a lot of what he does and how he feels is based on love. (FOR EXAMPLE his hatred of Recca stems from how Recca’s birth meant that his father loved Kurei and his mother less and how it ruined his mother, who he loved a lot) ...But giving up his heart entirely is... It’s not that hard, compared to giving up love, specifically. Because it’s giving it all up. And if you give it all up, you know less of what you’ve lost. Also, it’s easier to be heartless when EVERYONE YOU LOVE LEAVES YOU.

i kind of want to ask if kurei would think anything of drift not being real (if that is relevant of all considering the cubia thing) but i would assume not having a heart gets in the way of that :|a hypothetically maybe??
JUST A BIT. ...Uh, he wouldn’t think anything of Drift not being real. Drift is Drift, whatever. But it wouldn’t be related to Cubia. He loved Victory because of who Victory was and whether or not he’s “real” in his home world, he was very real to Kurei. Ugh Burn misses him so much. Or he does when he has a heart... Not having a heart puts a wrench into a lot of feelings. As for Drift, specifically, Kurei just kind of...idk. He’s irritated that Drift goes to other teams for comfort when he’s not feeling...stable.. But he gets annoyed when any of his teammates do that, and it makes him want to spend less time with them or be kind to them or to see them as ‘his team’ which is kind of his problem and this HEARTLESS thing is just making it worse. Because he had a very strong sense of Citrine and now it’s just very much... whatever /handwave. which is. bad. but...also kind of inevitable, I guess. Kurei’s thing is mostly for people who stick with him (the team) through thick and thin, and the new members don’t really do that also they’re...new... WHICH ISN’T THEIR FAULT but it makes him grump anyway. Also he has a problem with Riku because Riku is totally a Turquoise wearing Citrine colors :E

I just read Drift’s thread with Kite and wow if Drift ever talked about Victory like that to Kurei it’ll either be that Kurei develops some sort of respect for him or that he’ll...be totally disgusted and stop trying to be even the slightest bit friendly or considerate.


GIMME KUREI’S THOUGHTS ON GOKU :U
Goku is the person Kurei’s most attached to in Aather now, because he’s the only one that remembers what it used to be like and what their team used to be like and they’ve gone through a lot and that means something. He’s also a...child, sort of? In how Kurei sees him. In that...it’s not so much that Kurei has to protect him (physically), but that he’s someone Kurei wants to...keep happy? Calm, at least, and not upset. So to protect emotionally and mentally, I guess. He’s also most willing to show emotions and share things with Goku...

I KIND OF FIGURED THE DISGUSTED THING WOULD. be a thing. I am sorry I am being a jerk about your bro, burn (unsure)!! ... How would respect come into play though...

it's more like a... He'd respect that you've made your own decision and that you have a POV that you are sure about and that makes you--happy? Whether or not it's good for you, if that's what you want to do and you go ahead and do it... But it can't be a hysterical or full-of-feelings sort of thing; he'd have to see that you're serious and that you've considered other possibilities and this is what you've decided you want to see yourself as and what you want to do. Does that make sense?

THAT DOES haha. Sadly I'm not sure Drift has enough emotional stability to qualify for that :'D At least he understands talking smack about Cubia to... Cubia's teammates is a bad idea. (Whether or not he remembers that is another thing, though; he slipped up a bit with Percy l-lol.)

IT WAS THIS comparatively it's a lot tamer than stuff he's said to Kite about it, though he was also in very different mind frames when talking to Percy and Kite. Cubia is really the closest example he can think of, but at the same time he's started thinking they really aren't the same at all after hearing about Cubia's arc (had a purpose that made him unhappy, found a new purpose and happiness, left Aather with that new purpose in mind), since he disagrees with it and thinks he's not something capable of a similar arc \:D/ So in theory he will probably be less nasty ... ish...

Kurei would probably react violently, the more I read these threads... Or at least start to and stop himself...but yeah. Violence. Or violent tendencies. That sort of attitude annoys Kurei a lot :(a

HE CARES just because he doesn't think Kurei doesn't mean he dislikes Kurei or that he wouldn't like Kurei to like him (not that he thinks this will ever happen). Team + people he knows/is friends with are really the only people he would feel bad about for messing up heart-wise. Really if he thought he could help then he would try, even if Kurei detested him for it. IT'S A WEIRD THING.
