Burn sees Citrine as his, and of the team, he's the most possessive of Cubia. Silver's clearly self-sufficient, and the other kids are a little too...hasty and rash, but Cubia is quiet and calm without being a bleeding heart—all of which Kurei appreciates. He's concerned about Cubia's sense of self-worth, but he isn't the type to push. Instead, he's just trying to quietly get Cubia to be willing to open up if he needs or wants it, and to expose Cubia's masks if it's necessary. More than anything, really, Kurei gets irritated when Cubia's all :) :) :) when he's clearly not feeling it. Or when Cubia deliberately tries to push him into saying something that will feed into Cubia's sense of worthlessness. Kurei just...he won't humor Cubia and doesn't really treat or think of him as one of the "kids", the way he does of Goku or Mint or Kazu. At the same time, he doesn't really think of Cubia as one of the "adults" like he does Muraki (and Adachi, I guess). Victory is just Victory.
Naoya likes Cubia! ...Naoya likes most people. He thinks Cubia is nice and sweet and really cool cause he can float :O And sooo...he's willing to believe what Cubia tells him! Which is apparently not always a great idea since now he's kind of really (unsure) at the Personae after Cubia was all OBVIOUSLY THEY'RE THE ONES THAT TOOK OUR MEMORIES. He sometimes feels a bit at a loss around Cubia because Cubia looks younger than him but doesn't really...act it? WE SHOULD PLAY MORE.
Cubia flat-out adores Kurei. He is the person Cubia feels most secure with and more likely to confess things to him. Not to say he doesn't love or trust Silver, he tends to feel Silver is above these things, so he's less likely to go to him if he has a problem! Kurei would be the first person he would go too. Still, the base of Cubia's personality is mistrust and he's still not entirely comfortable doing things he sees as a liability to his cause Hence, he still pretends things away or hides his feelings because he doesn't know how to behave otherwise! Not to mention the continuous fear that he'll be rejected. So he still has to struggle between trying to confide in his team and dealing with everything himself. Still, if Kurei told him something, Cubia will believe him! He may question it at times, but the belief would be there.
Cubia is undecided on how he feels about Naoya. He thinks Naoya is a little dumb, uncertain and no idea how to confront things for himself. So he didn't see the harm of telling Naoya a few things that'll boost his self-confidence. Right now, he simply enjoys talking to Naoya to see how far his words will lead him. It's like having a pet rat ♥
Man, Cubia is not a big sharer of memories. It's highly personal for him, buuuuuuuut mostly likely the one he would share would be either his past with his mother or his death (when he... finally gets it).
Muraki and Kurei take the front seats while Goku, Kazu and Mint bicker about who gets to see near the windows and make up games to pass the time. Occasionally, they keep asking "Are we there yet" and Kurei reminds them that he can set them on fire. Muraki is happily playing country music. Cubia sits on the top of the car, not the least bit bothered.
Liberty's existence bugs him. He definitely doesn't have that emotion there to properly hate him, and it's not something that consumes him whatsoever, but it's just one of those... Whenever he remembers Liberty exists, he has this urge to set him on fire.
What would Cubia think of Kurei's thoughts on Liberty :'D
Cubia doesn't mind it and he's not too sure he'll complain if Kurei set Liberty on fire. Still, he knows that the consequences would be a pain to deal with, which is why he'll interfere if something happens. Otherwise, his feelings for Liberty still linger between liking him and wanting him to vanish forever.
...well the first volume's about this kid named Izumi who is mistaken for another Izumi (who I will now call Other Izumi). Other Izumi is the number one at a ~club~ that caters to very...rich...and usually high-profile men. The dude that mistook Izumi for Other Izumi is the owner's close friend and then they had sex before he realized that he just deflowered some homophobic kid. ...They have antics and Izumi is forever and ever tsundere about admitting he is all raburabu towards this dude.
IN VOLUME TWO you meet Naoya. ...Desite the fact that he isn't in v1 at all, he and the afore-mentioned owner of the afore-mentioned club are the closest to "main characters" Love Mode will ever get. NAOYA'S LIFE SUCKS. A LOT.
He was part of a very happy family until everyone except for him is killed in a car accident on his birthday when he was 13 and no one wanted to take him in. Though one of his dad's former colleagues took legal guardianship of him, Naoya was on his own. He met Aoe-san (THE OWNER OF THE CLUB) when Aoe's ex-girlfriend tried to brain Aoe with a flowerpot and hit Naoya instead. ...And then comes the adventures of Naoya and Aoe, with appearances from Izumi and Aoe's friend and Aoe's brother and it's really sweet and sad and I love it a lot. Naoya works through a ton of problems in the series as life keeps throwing him curveballs every time he thinks he's happy.
HERE, HAVE A MORE DETAILED THING ABOUT NAOYA'S LIFE from when I apped him \o/
Once upon a time, in a land far far away, there was a child born on Christmas Day. A boy born to a very loving family, with a mom and dad that were busy but loved him and a big brother that was very good about not bullying him too much. Life was good! He was a cheerful and happy kid and--
And then, on his thirteenth birthday, a truck crashed through the guardrail and smashed into their car. Both his parents were killed, and his brother's head got smashed in by something big and steel; Naoya was the only one who survived, leaving him with a crippling phobia of cars. While his father's colleague took Naoya under his legal guardianship, Naoya was pretty much on his own to survive. Working multiple jobs and affording school on a scholarship, Naoya quickly learned that the only person he can depend on is himself. He closed himself off from other people, proud enough that he won't accept pity from others and jaded enough that he realized people would only help him if they wanted something out of it. Life...was pretty miserable.
THEN IT GOT WORSE yeeeah /o/
Sometime around when he was sixteenish, he was leaving the afore-mentioned dad's former colleague's building after said colleague's wife told him they didn't want to be his guardians anymore (even if they hadn't done much of anything), when he got smashed in the head by a flying flowerpot. Or a falling flowerpot, but no big difference there.
The flowerpot was dropped by a pissed off girlfriend of one Aoe Reiji, who he had just broken up with. Unfortunately for her, the flowerpot knocked Naoya unconscious instead Aoe. THIS IS THE CHANGING POINT OF HIS LIFE even if he doesn't realize it for a while.
Said flowerpot was plastic and the soil inside was dry so Naoya just got a bad bump on his head and was released from the hospital that day. When he got back to the apartment he was renting though, he found it in flames--with everything he owned, what little there was, inside it. Including his parents' and brother's mortuary tablets. Naoya freaked out, but really didn't know what he could do since he couldn't afford a new place and there was nowhere for him to go... So Aoe offered Naoya a spot on his couch; Naoya accepted for lack of better options.
Life slowly started changing for the better. Aoe smacked him when he waited outside, despite having a key--letting Naoya know it was okay to use the apartment on his own. Aoe yelled at him when he saw Naoya's "dinner", a bag of discount breadcrumbs from the supermarket, and started cooking at home for them--giving Naoya a full meal every night. Naoya couldn't understand why Aoe was doing this for him, and was convinced that there must be something Aoe was getting out of it. It took Aoe finding him in a really bad situation and getting incredibly pissed off, but still going "Let's go home" at him, for Naoya to realize he probably wasn't going to get kicked out for every minor infraction.
It took the efforts and kindness of Aoe Reiji, his brother, and the other people around the Aoe brothers for Naoya to slowly open up. Every time he settles into happiness though, something else crappy happens. After he thought he could live happily with the Aoe brothers, he ends up nearly getting killed by someone he had been close to: the man that had orchestrated the accident that killed Naoya's parents. After he finally settled into a new school and made a friend, some old dude showed up and claimed to be his grandfather. Instead of being happy, Naoya was upset and bitter that his supposed grandfather never showed while he was actually in need of help--he ended up having to leave Aoe because he was blackmailed into "If you don't come with us, we'll ruin Aoe" and using Aoe against Naoya is a very effective way of getting him to do anything. He had a HAPPY DAY OF HAPPY that concluded included in getting kidnapped to be used as a hostage in a robbery and then got chucked off a bridge...which really didn't do anything for his car-phobia.
BUT DESPITE ALL THIS SHIT Aoe is pretty amazing and managed to get Naoya to become a warm kid who smiles easily and thanks people. He's easily flustered and embarrassed and is often likened to a kitten. He's usually pretty serious, but not stoic, and has an almost desperate need to be acknowledged and loved--though he never quite admits it. His years alone made him independent and taught him to stand up for himself and those in a weaker position, but his years with Aoe re-taught him the warmth and happiness from an unconditional love that he'd lost when he lost his family. Naoya is stupidly, fiercely loyal to Aoe and those he considers "his own" and will do whatever he can to protect them.
and if you read THAT I give you kudos. How's Tybalt doing?
Tybalt has had time to take in the value of his last memory and his burning hatred for his father, so in a sense, he looks pretty much back to normal. The only problem is all of his feelings have been shoved into the backburner while he nurses his anger and his hatred. Tybalt is just... strongly emotionally retarded! And having his memories back just impedes on his progress to understand the kind of person he is emotionally. Tybalt thinks he is less of a person, IS FINE WITH THAT, and really just wants to kill off his dad and set his affairs to rest. Juliet being here means he can look after her and make sure she's all around, even if he still doesn't fully get the extent of her influence on him.
......I totally replied to this and then I guess gmail or DW or something in between ate it.
I have a few characters I am considering! But the problem is that everyone I want to play all tend to fall in between Naoya's derp and Kurei's :| when I actually need someone who is even more outgoing than Naoya. MAYBE I JUST THINK THAT because I am feeling like I can't quite make CR but idk. Also I am not entirely sure I'd want a third since I am feeling a little stretched thin already as it is. ...Maybe if I drop a few at CFUD.
What does Cubia do on a typical day, assuming there are no games.
Cubia is a stalkerrrrrrrrr. He usually spends his time up in the trees watching and observing whoever he finds of interest and trying to learn from them. Otherwise, he probably does errands around the cabin like washing sheets, cleaning things. He likes to be kept busy.
...he wouldn't use it on you unless you died. YOU KNOW IF HE HAD BEEN IN THE THREE GAME LAST NIGHT he would've been okay with Citrine wanting to kill ourseives since....fire... arrows.... he could take out all the arrows :|a
He's...okay. He's feeling a little more settled than he was a bit ago, more grounded, which is nice. He's met some people he really likes and his team is comfortable if not--you know. super close. He's getting a lot of memories that involve Aoe-san in some way, but he's only gotten one memory actually of Aoe-san, which confuses the hell out of him... Except for that warm fuzzy feeling he gets whenever he thinks about ~Aoe-san~~~♥ and...uh. ...Yeah, he just wants to figure things out. Cause clearly he isn't related to Aoe-san or Sensei or Haruomi-san, and then Wataru said something about inheritance, but Naoya doesn't want to inherit and what the hell is going on with him and his family???
Yeah, confused about himself. Pretty content otherwise.
I think you pretty much nailed it -- comfortable but not super close. She really likes him! Sees him as kind and sensitive and pretty much just a good person overall. But at the same time, she's still a little shy around him. She feels a little bad at how super dejected she was when she first saw him, and the recent way she's gotten nosy about his memories and love life isn't her trying to pick on him, but just wanting to show an interest and find something to bond over. Later on it will almost definitely be picking on him, though.
HE... He likes her? She's nice and talks to him a lot and he appreciates that, and he also is thankful that she doesn't seem...that upset that he replaced Allen1 anymore? Since that weighed on his mind a lot initially orz But yeah, he doesn't mind chatting with her, even when she's asking about his memories and love life because he really doesn't mind talking about all that stuff and he's kind of glad someone does ask.
If she had to kill all of Sapphire but one--or kill herself. What would Excel do/who would she spare? (I AM SORRY I ASK BIZARRE QUESTIONS)
Flip out and kill herself, I guess. She's got a ruthless survival instinct to her, and capable of all kinds of things if pushed that far, but she's also ultra-mega-loyal. She just wouldn't be able to do it.
And if that weren't an option... it depends on whether they're there to be like "NO KILL ME SAVE ____ 8U" and influence her decision, but if they weren't, if it was just Excel herself in some little room, she'd probably pick Allen to survive, because he's the one with the greatest overlap of codependency feelings and protectiveness feelings, whereas the rest of Sapphire mostly falls into one category or the other. EVEN THOUGH SHE KNOWS VERY WELL ALLEN WOULD HATE THAT. 8D;;
I like your bizarre question, and return it to you. :|a
.....Naoya wouldn't kill anyone. He-- For his important people, he'd rather die. He will work hard to survive, because he isn't actively suicidal, but he won't be able to hurt others for himself either. But I mean, he did spend a lot of three years wondering why he had to survive...not that...he remembers it...
Kurei would kill everyone but Cubia, because no one else has the same drive to live on that Cubia does.
How is Excel different in fred, considering the memories she has, than she is in...canon.... .......all I know about her canon self is what I remember from your play of her in camp....
In canon she gets some seriously long-term amnesia and starts living a new life as a different person. So you have Excel, who is a loud angry asshole (and a whole lot less cheerful and friendly than I ever played her in camp), and Teriha, who is bookwormy and nervous and agoraphobic.
So basically, since her amnesiac personality is closer to Teriha than Excel anyway, and since I have her memories so heavily weighted, she's a big ol' weenie right now. Not far from canon, but WAY far from Excel. And is actually pretty sane and halfway emotionally competent. Things for Sapphire to enjoy while they last. :|b
